Independent Property Group can proudly trace its history back to August 1958 when R.O Wellsmore opened its doors in Manuka. In 1974, R.O. Wellsmore joined with another locally established agency, Reg Daly Real Estate, and steadily grew to become Canberra’s leading combined agency. In 1990 they began trading as R.O. Wellsmore Independent and Reg Daly Independent and were joined by a third business that became Federation Independent. As their success grew, so did the strength of the Independent brand. So much so, that in 2000 the decision was made by the franchisees to drop the separate entity names and trade under just one: Independent Property Group.
